What might we learn from those secular spaces, especially from those buildings whose purpose is to embody (as do our sanctuaries) a particular group\u2019s story? We will explore two such museums in on The National Mall in Washington DC: the US Holocaust Memorial Museum and the National Museum of the American Indian.<\/p>\n<p>We will have ample free time to explore the Many other museums on the National Mall and\u00a0the opportunity for an optional tour of the National Cathedral with Jay Hall Carpenter, as well as Conduct ACLS busines.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15251 alignright lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/liturgical-consultants.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/SaveTheDate-Museum-Holocaust-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"219\" height=\"219\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 219px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 219\/219;\" \/>Museum staff at each institution will speak with us about the architecture and the interior spaces, with a focus on ways that the space helps convey the narrative.\u00a0We\u2019ll have time afterwards to reflect on the ways that their decisions in building these museums may intersect with the kinds of decisions we make in designing and furnishing churches.
